A stylized, almost surreal figure sways in a paper boat on stormy waves – this extraordinary advertisement poster from Laboratoires de la Carnine Lefrancq from the first half of the 20th century artistically and clearly visualizes the unpleasant feeling of seasickness. With the inscription "États Nauséeux" (Nauseous States), the company promoted the preparation Bovhépatic. The motif designed by Ribes captivates with its reduced design language and the atmospheric color choice in shades of green, yellow, and grey. The graphic abstraction of the figure, which seems to dizzyingly spin around itself, characterizes this sheet as an insightful example of French advertising graphics between Art Deco and modern illustration.
