About Atelier Orlo

Historical posters often tell more than meets the eye. They show what people once considered important: travel, theater evenings, new products, exhibitions, technology, fashion, or the dream of another city. Some motifs are loud and direct, while others seem almost silent. It's precisely this mixture that makes them so interesting to me.

My name is Niklas. For years, I've been fascinated by design and historical imagery, especially the question of how much attitude can be conveyed through a typeface, a color, or a simple figure. A good poster doesn't need to explain why it's good. It sticks in your mind.

Atelier Orlo grew out of this fascination. I look for motifs that are not just old, but still evoke something today. A poster can be beautiful, but it should do more than just fill a wall. It should be a piece of visual history that you discover anew every day.

The selection is intentionally kept calm. Not mass, but motifs with origin, tension, and a design that still holds up today.
