Terms of service

General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
Atelier Orlo - Niklas Maximilian Heinrich Horstmann
Last updated: May 2026

1. Scope

These GTC apply to all orders placed by consumers within the meaning of Section 13 of the German Civil Code (BGB) via the online shop “Atelier Orlo” (atelier-orlo.de). Deviating customer terms do not apply.

2. Contracting party

The purchase contract is concluded with:

Atelier Orlo - Niklas Maximilian Heinrich Horstmann
Ückendorfer Straße 95
45886 Gelsenkirchen
Germany
Email: hello@atelier-orlo.de
VAT ID: DE350314022

3. Offers and conclusion of contract

The presentation of products in the online shop does not constitute a legally binding offer, but a non-binding invitation to place an order. By clicking the order button, you submit a binding order. The contract is concluded when we confirm the order by email or dispatch the goods.

4. Products

Atelier Orlo sells high-quality reproductions of vintage posters. All motifs offered are historical source materials whose copyright protection has expired (public domain works). The products are printed reproductions, not original works.

Despite careful image preparation, slight color or tonal deviations from the screen display may occur for printing-related reasons. This does not constitute a defect.

5. Prices and payment terms

All prices are final prices and include statutory VAT. Shipping is free throughout the EU.

Payment is due when the contract is concluded. The following payment methods are available:

- PayPal
- Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.)

6. Delivery

Delivery is usually made within 3 to 5 working days after receipt of the order. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays at the shipping location. For deliveries to other EU countries, delivery time may be slightly longer.

We deliver throughout the European Union. Collection by the customer is not possible. Shipping is handled by a shipping service provider (e.g. DHL, Hermes, FedEx).

7. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer, you have a statutory right of withdrawal. We voluntarily grant an extended withdrawal period of 30 days. Please see our withdrawal policy for all details.

You can exercise your right of withdrawal by email, letter, or via the online function “Cancel contract”, which is permanently available in the footer. If you use the online function, you will receive an immediate confirmation of receipt by email.

8. Warranty

The statutory warranty rights for defects apply. Please report any defects within a reasonable period after receiving the goods by email, including photo documentation. In the event of a justified defect, we will initially provide subsequent performance (repair or replacement delivery). If this fails, you have the right to a price reduction or withdrawal from the contract.

9. Liability

We are liable for damages only in cases of intent or gross negligence. In the event of a breach of essential contractual obligations, we are also liable for slight negligence, but limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Liability for injury to life, body, or health remains unaffected.

10. Copyright

The design of this online shop, our product descriptions, and our own graphic preparation of the motifs are protected by copyright. Reproduction or commercial use without our express consent is prohibited.

11. Data protection

Personal data is processed exclusively for order processing and in accordance with the GDPR. Data is shared only with payment and shipping service providers. Further information can be found in our privacy policy.

12. Consumer dispute resolution

We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

13. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the customer’s respective EU member state remain unaffected. The place of jurisdiction is Gelsenkirchen if the customer is a merchant or has no permanent residence in the EU.

14. Severability clause

If individual provisions of these GTC are invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
